Following three concerts in Vancouver, Rossen Milanov’s eight-week world tour continues in Japan with concerts in Sapporo and Tokyo. Making his conductorial debut in the former city, Rossen leads the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra on February 8 in a concert highlighted by Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with pianist Nikolay Khozyainov, and Ravel’s orchestration of Mussorgksy’s Pictures at an Exhibition. The concert also includes Bartók’s Roumanian Dances and Liadov’s Baba Yaga.
On February 14, Rossen appears with the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time. There, he conducts Mozart’s Ballet Music from Idomeneo, Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 2.
