On March 30, Princeton Symphony Orchestra Music Director Rossen Milanov returns to the Richardson Auditorium for the fourth installment of the PSO’s classical series. Titled “Nights and Dreams,” the program features a beguiling mix of works by Britten, Berlioz, and Julian Grant.
The premiere of the lattermost composer’s Dances in the Dark opens the program, followed by Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings. This performance reunites Rossen with tenor Dominic Armstrong, accompanies by French horn player Eric Ruske. Finally, Rossen closes the program with Berlioz’s incandescent Symphonie Fantastique.
