Rossen Milanov returns to Denmark November 28 to lead the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, his third appearance with the ensemble in as many years. This latest performance features Korngold’s stunning Violin Concerto, with one of the orchestra’s two concertmasters, Yana Deshkova, as the soloist. The work is bookended by Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes, with modal connections to Korngold’s own musical influences, as well as Schubert’s “Great” Symphony No. 9.
