August sees Rossen Milanov in Bogotá as he guests with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia for three concerts on August 9, 16, and 23.
The first program features works that inspired Cocteau, notably Satie’s Parade and two works by Saint–Saëns: Havanaise and Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso. The next week’s program is dedicated to 20th-century American masters with Copland’s Appalachian Spring Suite, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris, and Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
On August 23, Rossen celebrates the Orquesta Sinfónica’s tenth anniversary in grand style with Holst’s The Planets, accompanied by imagery from NASA.
