This Friday, Rossen Milanov reunites with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias at the onset of the 2014-15 concert season for a joint concert with the Oviedo Filarmonía. Performing at the orchestra’s home of the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe in Oviedo, Rossen and a combined orchestra of 126 players begin with José Peris’s Variaciones para Gran Orquestra Sobre una Parana de Luys de Milan. They pair the work with the 1947 version of Stravinsky’s riotous Rite of Spring as they continue to explore the ballet music that influenced Diaghilev and Les Ballets Russes.
