This week, Rossen Milanov makes his National Symphony Orchestra subscription series debut with three concerts at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. The Bulgarian conductor, who led Handel’s Messiah with the orchestra in a special concert last year, takes the podium with soloist Garrick Ohlsson for Busoni’s Piano Concerto, a work that also features the talents of the Washington Men’s Camerata. The work is paired with Stravinsky’s Suite from The Firebird, a work that served as Rossen’s debut with New York City Ballet earlier this season. Performances take place November 20, 21, and 22.
Next month, Rossen’s performance of Messiah will be broadcast as part of the NSO Showcase on WETA 90.9 FM at 9:00pm on December 3. Click here to tune in worldwide.
