This weekend, Rossen Milanov makes his Ópera de Oviedo debut with a double-bill that pairs Strauss’s Four Last Songs with Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle. The Bulgarian conductor and Chief Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias leads his orchestra in performances taking place on October 12, 14, 16, and 18.
Ricarda Merbeth is heard as the soprano soloist in the Strauss work, while Ana Ibarra stars as Judith in Bartók’s one-act opera, opposite Albert Dohmen in the title role. Tim Carroll directs the production. For more information, click here.
