On September 26, Rossen Milanov makes the first of several major debuts this season when he appears with New York City Ballet. In his premiere outing with the company, the Bulgarian conductor leads Stravinsky’s The Firebird with Teresa Reichlen, Ask la Cour, Savannah Lowery, and Andrew Scordato dancing the principal roles choreographed by George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins set against Marc Chagall’s beloved backdrops.
Two days later, Rossen returns to his role as Music Director of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. Opening a season that highlights guest soloists in their 20s and 30s, Rossen leads Bruch’s ebullient Violin Concerto No. 1 with Bulgarian violinist Bella Hristova as well as Bruckner’s sweeping Symphony No. 4, “Romantic.”
